Abrar-ul-Haq hails from a Punjabi Jat family of the Kahlon clan. He is the youngest among eight siblings, with his elder brother, Major (retired) Israr-ul-Haq Kahlon, being an active politician in Narowal. His father was a civil servant, which led the family to reside in various locations during his childhood. He received his early education at Junior Model School in Gujrat, graduated from Sir Syed College in Rawalpindi, and later earned a Master’s degree in Social Sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad.
